Have you ever found life moving so fast you barely have time to remember you have a soul?

What if all that spiritual work you've done is quietly holding you together in those times, even when your spirit seems like a distant concept?

In this livestream, Kara Goodwin explores one of the most comforting truths of the spiritual path: your spiritual practice doesn't disappear when life gets chaotic. Every meditation session, every moment of soul connection, every act of spiritual discipline builds a reservoir that carries you through the storms you don't see coming.

When life goes into overdrive and your regular practice feels out of reach, that reservoir is what sustains you.

Kara shares her own personal experience from the last few days, when life accelerated into a blur, and how the cumulative effect of her spiritual growth quietly held her through without her even realizing it.

In this conversation:

✨ Why consistency in your spiritual practice pays off in unexpected ways

✨ How spiritual growth creates a "carry-through" effect during life's most overwhelming seasons

✨ The difference between active spiritual discipline and being carried by your practice

✨ How to trust your spiritual awakening journey even when you can't actively show up for it

Whether you're in a deep season of spiritual transformation or just trying to survive a crazy week, your soul work pays dividends.

00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:08,000
Hello, and welcome to Soul Elevation: Guiding Your Ascension to New Heights. I'm your host Kara Goodwin, and I'm excited to be here with you on Tuesday, May 26th. Normally I like to try to go live on Mondays and Fridays, but we've had a holiday here in America, and it's been a whirlwind. It's been so busy. I
couldn't even fathom going live yesterday. So I'm glad I can fit it in here today 'cause it's still a challenge to get this in today. But that's what I wanna talk about. I wanna talk about how life gets crazy, and for those who are on a path of spiritual awakening or spiritual development We might be used to

1
00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:08,000
having time to dedicate to our spiritual practice, to our spiritual lives, and life happens. Life gets crazy, and we might feel like we are falling off the wagon, so to speak, or, um, you know, if we're not able to dedicate ourselves to our spiritual practices the way that we're used to, or if, for me, the way that this shows
up is sometimes because I'm not having that, uh, you know, I'm kinda out of my comfort zone, I'm out of my routine, I just get really entrenched into the, the 3D, the regular kind of human mainstream experience because that's what I'm surrounded by. So I wanna talk about how these things go together, and how when, um, when

2
00:02:00,000 --> 00:02:08,000
life gets really crazy and we feel like we don't have time to really nurture and stoke that flame within us, that spiritual spark, how the cumulative effect of what we have been doing can carry us through those times. So let's start by talking just about my own personal experience and what inspired this topic today.
So last week, I had a really crazy week that just has... it will continue on for a little, a few more weeks. But, but it was like at the pinnacle of craziness last week, and it was just a very intense week of th- of things going on. So I had guests who came to stay in my house from abroad, and they'll be here for,

3
00:03:00,000 --> 00:03:08,000
I think it's like 10 days or something. So a couple of extra people in the house, um, which just always, you know, it just gets you out of your routine. It just gets you into, you know, a different mode, and you're on in a different way, and on all the time because you're, you know, sharing your space with extra people. Um, the next day, so they arrived, again from overseas, and then
the next day my daughter turned 16. And for those of you who are not watching from the US, um I know that it's not this way everywhere. Different cultures have different years that are a big deal, that are a big deal. So like, you know, in Latin America, 15 is a big one. I know in Europe a lot-- for a lot of countries, it's 18. Here in America, that we have like the sweet 16 for, um,

4
00:04:00,000 --> 00:04:08,000
especially for females, and as I said, this was for my daughter. So it's a big year for Americans because that's the year that you start driving, and it's just sort of the... For us, it's kind of that, um, okay, you're not a little kid anymore. You know, you're kinda stepping into a different phase. And so it-- we weren't planning to make it like a huge thing necessarily, but the day after her birthday, her birthday,
my oldest had his high school graduation, which is another huge milestone. And because there is such a, there's such energy around the graduation, I didn't really want her, I really didn't want her to get like, you know, passed over where it's like, oh, these guests come, and we're having so much fun, you know, and, and we're excited about that, and then there's the graduation, and she just gets like one little day.

5
00:05:00,000 --> 00:05:08,000
And it just kind of, we blow through it, and we miss it. Um, so, you know, I wanted to try to make that special for her and make sure she didn't feel like we missed that. So, um, that was the day after my guests arrived, and then the, the next, very next day, my son graduated from high school, so there was the big ceremony, and there's just a lot that goes into that because he goes to a huge school. It's the second-biggest school in our, in our state, and it's,
you know, more than a thousand kids who are graduating at once. So there's a lot of organization to kinda get there and be able to sit together, and then it was raining, which added a-another element to it. And then there, it's just emotional as well, you know, very nostalgic time. And then the day after that, we had a graduation party for him, and that was, there was a lot of organization leading up to that. We shared that with a couple of other families, so

6
00:06:00,000 --> 00:06:08,000
there was a lot of coordination, a lot of organization, and it was just a, a, big, it was a big deal for us. Also in America, this is a holiday weekend. So it's like we just came out of a holiday weekend. Again, we've got guests, we've got all of this. So it's just a very busy time. I'm sharing all of that just to try to paint the picture of it being a really busy
time. And as you probably know, if this isn't the first video that you're watching of mine, my spiritual connection, my spiritual development is really a priority for me. That is a joy and a pleasure and a priority. And with all of this happening, it was like life was just going at a thousand miles an hour. And I was still having time to meditate in the morning,

7
00:07:00,000 --> 00:07:08,000
but I-- it was funny 'cause I would sit down and it would be like... 'cause it's just kinda my habit, you know. So I was almost out of habit sitting down to meditate, and also choosing to do so, because I could have definitely told myself I was too busy. But it was like, "Oh, yeah." You know, I would sit down to meditate and it was like, "Oh, yeah, I have a soul. I, I have a spirit." There's a
something-- there's a whole other invisible life, you know, and realm that I haven't been tapping into because I'd been so focused on what's the next thing in front of me? Here, let's put one foot in front of the other and do what it is that has to be done in this reality, in this 3D reality. And there just, you know, a lotta times as I move through my days, I have space in my days. I have space to see

8
00:08:00,000 --> 00:08:08,000
things from a spiritual perspective and to, um, just engage with life with that lens. And because everything had been so focused in the physical realm, in the human experience, in this earth experience, because it was just, that was what was being demanded, when I would sit down to meditate, it was, it was kind of like this remembrance, like, "Oh, my gosh, this
has been hidden from me because I've been so focused in the spiritual, uh, sorry, in the physical experience that I, I have not been connecting with this consciously as I move through my day." And that is part of what we are doing with our daily practice, with the discipline of the, the sitting down every day to meditate and the, you know, engaging with content

9
00:09:00,000 --> 00:09:08,000
that helps to remind us of who we really are, that we are souls who have a body. We are souls who are here temporarily in a physical experience. By engaging in that way regularly, when we find ourselves caught up in this physical experience, in this physical reality all of the practices that we have had and all of the ways that we
have practiced engaging with life from a spiritual perspective can carry us through those chaotic times. So for me, in the last few days, this is-- there's been a lot of celebrating, but it hasn't all been celebrating. Um, you know, I did have one big event, uh, one big kind of like triggering happening that came out of the blue,

10
00:10:00,000 --> 00:10:08,000
um, while all of this was happening, and that was interesting too because I was really feeling upset and, and there's been a lot of emotion happening too, you know, just with the graduation, with the nostalgia, with all of that. Um, you know, of course, you're, you are feeling emotionally charged kind of. Like, I definitely felt like sentimental and emotional as
my son was graduating, and then you add that-- add to that a kind of trigger And I, and so I'm sharing this because that was another way that I was feeling very human and very, like, in the physical realm, in the physical experience, in the human experience, because I was feeling a lot of just really strong emotions. And that was... I was needing to give myself the

11
00:11:00,000 --> 00:11:08,000
space and the time to kind of bring my attention to the soul level and remind myself that this is a spiritual experience and get a different perspective to help me get through that. So I wanted, I wanted to feel the emotions. I wanted to acknowledge the way that I felt and not just say, "Nope, that's wrong. I don't wanna feel that way. I only have joy and
peace and calmness." You know, I wanted to let the emotions move through me and cry and, you know, let myself have that human experience. And it got to the point where I could feel that I was choosing to bring that story back in, to feel like a victim, to feel, you know, to, to, like, make this, to deepen the groove of the narrative of the story of how I was

12
00:12:00,000 --> 00:12:08,000
experiencing what had happened. And for me, there just came a point where I was like, "Okay, I'm, I'm not gonna keep looping this through my, through my consciousness, through my, my thoughts. I'm not gonna..." Like, I felt like I let it run its course, and I was ready to release it. And that comes from my spiritual practice. That comes from the cumulative
effect and the training that I have undergone. You know, it's, it's putting the work in practice. So it's, it's one thing to sit down every day and meditate or sit down multiple times a day to meditate- It's w- it's one thing to engage with content that helps you feel uplifted and so forth, but where the rubber meets the road is when life happens. That is really

13
00:13:00,000 --> 00:13:08,000
when you're, you're flexing your spiritual muscle, and it's just like when you go to the gym and you, you know, do... You lift weights. You, you're using... You're, you know, practicing. You're lifting weights. You're using machines to help you to get stronger. Or maybe not machines, you know, it might just be free weights or whatever, but you're using something to build that muscle, and you can think of meditation or breathwork
or your yoga practice or whatever it is that helps you to connect and get centered and balanced and connect with yourself as a soul. And when you go to the gym and you keep getting stronger, when your neighbor needs help moving a couch, who do they think of? They think of the strong person who lives next door, who works out all the time, who can easily help them move the couch, and that's when you put into practice the

14
00:14:00,000 --> 00:14:08,000
muscle that you've built. Or if you need to move your own couch or whatever it is. But it's the same sort of thing. Life is gonna happen. You know, if y- if you're not living in an ashram and you're not, like, distancing yourself from society and you are actively engaged in modern living, life is going to happen. It's going to find you. And so whether it's that you're celebrating and it's just time's going very fast and you're not
getting time to sit down and meditate every day or for as long as you normally would, or you're not having that downtime that you're used to, to kind of catch your breath and get centered and find your stillness so that you can engage with life from a very centered place. And if you're just finding, like, okay, I have to be at the hospital to be there for somebody or because I need to go to the hospital or my... You know, I've got

15
00:15:00,000 --> 00:15:08,000
a million errands that have to happen, and they've got to happen today, and it's... Whatever it is that is kind of coming into your life and saying, "Nope, you don't get the time that you normally get. You need to get out of your comfort zone And you're on, you're up. You know? Then you've built that spiritual muscle to say, "Okay, well, I'm gonna be engaging in a much more active way with
a lot more people, but this is what I've been training for. I'm gonna stay in my center. And even if I get knocked off of my center unexpectedly, yeah, I might, I might be knocked off my center, but is it gonna take out my whole week? Is it going to, um, pull me under? Am I gonna be swallowed up by the trigger? Or can I be in that? Can I feel it? Can I honor what comes in? Can I let it pass

16
00:16:00,000 --> 00:16:08,000
through me so I don't suppress it, and so that I don't bypass the human experience that I'm having? But I get through it. I get through the other side. I allow it to move through me, and it ... And then there is a point where I'm not pulled into it anymore. I've let it go. It has, it has passed through, and I find my equilibrium again And that's
what it's about because life is going to happen. And so you have the opportunity through your training, through your discipline, through your choices to continuously have a dedicated meditation practice. You're getting stronger. You are getting stronger. Your energy, your consciousness, as you keep kind of up-leveling your consciousness, you are--

17
00:17:00,000 --> 00:17:08,000
it's like when the bottom falls out, if it feels that way, you don't crash down to the lowest level that you used to before you started having a spiritual practice or spiritual perspective. You know, your floor, the lowest floor that you hit when the, when the, uh... If you-- I think of it as like an elevator. I use this analogy in my book,
Your Authentic Awakening. But it's like if you are expanding your consciousness, and you are, um, like, I'm gonna say reaching new levels, for lack of a better term. But as you open yourself up and your consciousness expands, it is, it is, uh, like when you, uh, op- having access to new floors in a, in an elevator. So let's say you have a, an

18
00:18:00,000 --> 00:18:08,000
elevator with a hundred stories, and before you have a spiritual practice or a meditation practice or however, whatever it is that how you connect, you only can get up to floor seven. And as your consciousness keeps expanding and you continue your awakening, you get more and more access to higher floors. So let's say you go through a certain level of awakening and
expansion, you're holding more new energy, and it's the equivalent of, "Okay, well, now you can reach floor ten." But not only do you reach floor ten, but you no longer cr- can crash as low. So you can't-- like, you're-- if the elevator falls, if you fall into despair or you get triggered, you're not going all the way to floor zero, where that may have taken you out

19
00:19:00,000 --> 00:19:08,000
for months. It might've been something that you never let go of or that it took years or decades for you to get through. You know, that might be floor zero for you. But when something triggers you, you may only fall to floor three. And it doesn't take as long for you to come back up to your kind of regular comfort zone in your consciousness. And then as you have more
expansions and more healing, more, uh, clearings, you continue to have access to higher levels, higher floors, and that low keeps lifting so that maybe, you know, you go through a few more expansions, and then when you have a trigger, you don't crash even down to floor three, but you're-- you crash at floor seven. And floor seven used to be your kind of high state or

20
00:20:00,000 --> 00:20:08,000
your rest-- you know, the top level for you. So these-- it's-- the point is, is that your practice is cumulative. So while you feel better after you meditate every day, and it kinda resets you and gets you back into your center, there is also this cumulative effect, and it can carry you through the challenging times. So stay dedicated, and if-- and, and also
use this as a reminder. Like, did you go through a really, uh, busy and crazy time recently and you let your practice fall? Maybe you used to meditate a lot, and then you got busy and you got out of the habit. And maybe it's time for you to remember that you do. You know, it is an important practice. It is cumulative, so, you know, make space for it again
