If you're watching this on YouTube, go ahead and hit the like button while you're thinking about it Nikki: Well, I don't think it was very intentional. I started off as, um, a critical care nurse, and those, in, in ICU in particular, the, um, the tensions and the energies are really heightened as people are getting ready to transition or when you're trying to save a life. And at that gateway in the emergency kind of, um, tensions, I was very aware of other beings around providing support for their loved ones.
4:00 And so the more I was studying that and I was doing energy work on people, the more I would feel the support of someone's dog or their cat or their horse, and they would start popping into the readings as support and love in a way that was really unconditional, that people would accept, where maybe they had more conditions around letting that in from their human counterparts.
5:00 And so I've always had a deep love of animals since childhood, but- It wasn't that typical way of, I've always listened to the animals, and then I turned it off kind of a thing. It was more that I think, um, certain stressors in my childhood, combined with having stress professionally as managing stress through critical care nursing, um, led me to connect the dots inward to be able to really listen to how my soul was communicating.
6:00 I just was intuitively drawn to these. And then simultaneously having a strong meditation practice or learning about the energetics of healing. And really for me, it was just a practice of healing and being, um, a lot more whole. So right, left, right brain, left brain, and, um, heart and mind. All, all the things starting to come online as just working as a more coherent organism.
7:00 So the animals are invested in trying to be safe. Um, especially... I do a lot of work with, um, horses, so they're flight animals- horses are also herd members and dogs are pack members, and we have our nature as being grounded in family. And so it really exploring what it means to contribute to a pack, to a family, to a herd, and then being able to be in truth with whatever, um, resonance we have with our energies and communicating from that place is very, very organic and natural for the animal kingdom.
8:00 Nikki: yes Like, we would send them out of the unit if somebody was gonna be doing that. But a lot of people die in ICU, and in that heightened sense Everybody has a signature frequency. So the person, you, me, your animal, and I could start feeling how this expanded version of the person was starting to come, like a lot more warmth, a lot more glow, a lot more radiance of love and support.
10:00 I had a really interesting, I don't know why this is coming up, but really early on in my career, we did a lot of work with the inmates at San Quentin. So if they had emergencies or life-threatening things, they would be transferred to the hospital I worked at. And an inmate had passed away. And when he passed away, I literally felt his energy around the body and having this automatic shift into the limitations of the body and having kind of a grief for the lifetime he lived.
11:00 I was very young at the time. I might have only been 21 or 22. But I remember afterwards you have to prepare the body to go to the morgue. You know, I know that's a little gruesome. But I didn't want to intrude on the process, and so I stood outside of the room. And I thought it would be really almost rude to do something as mundane and gruesome as sticking a toe tag on him or, you know, getting the body ready, like with all the human machinations of what it means to, um, do the end of life stuff.
12:00 And being really young, I didn't know how to metabolize the process. But now I have hindsight, I have distance, and, um, I understand it, what was being communicated. But that, you know, might be felt as, um, a preference in everyday language. You know? So he had a preference around that. And so for all your, your listeners or your viewers, there's ways that we have this preference.
13:00 That's the first level of communication, is that your body knows what your body knows. Versus when people say, "How do you do this?" Um, you go into the steps of it, and the minute you do that, you're in your head. And so it's really important to come into the body and come into the heart space. Um, the head will come online later, and you can process later.
14:00 I think you even called it like a frequency signature or something to that effect that everybody has. Is that the-- Is that how you put it, a frequency signature? Okay. And you said even your pets have a frequency signature. The way that you experience this, and this may be totally subjective, it may be different for different animal communicators, but taking that into consideration that we're in this q- sort of like soup of all different kinds of frequencies, and we, uh, we have our specific one, and our pets have ours- their specific one. Are they all or is there kind of like an animal, uh, area that you go to or, like, where you can find the animal signatures, the animal frequencies, all together? Or, or even maybe, like, the dog ones are sort of in this kind of area, you know, like a, some sort of quantum area or, um, their frequency is within this striation, whereas the humans are more at this striation, and the horses are at this one.
15:00 Nikki: Mm. There's so many ways to answer your question. It's a great question. So to give an example, when I listen to music, and especially if there's a lot of different instruments, my mind translates it into a visual of seeing almost like lasagna. You can-- I can see the layers of the different instrumentations, and it creates a picture in my mind.
16:00 Kara Goodwin: you were gonna say whale. Of all the animals, how did I know you were gonna say whale?
17:00 So I had to go into, one, the consciousness of dolphins 'cause I had never done that before, never communicated with a dolphin, and then from there go to a very particular pod that she wanted and then wait. Would they... So just like with humans, sometimes a soul group will come through for us, and you're communicating with an entity that is not singular.
18:00 It might be multiple beings within one consciousness. The pod or even, um, a herd of wild mustangs might communicate as their consciousness of the herd because they're united in a way that creates safety, and then maybe one being might be the gatekeeper for that. You know, their, their communicator might be the one that opens up the, the, the portal or the network to be able to communicate with the pod or the herd if they're more in their wildness.
19:00 Each of us is in our, um, our own frequency. But when they come together and intersect, there's communication that you can translate and you can, um, play with.
20:00 Nikki: Yeah, it, you, you nailed it right there. Um, so you, you really just tracked that so beautifully. So when I hear something, I, I see it in my mind's eye, but somebody on the other side, you might not be able to see. But what helps me is when people send me a photograph or a video of, uh, uh, you know, a horse is lame.
21:00 And, um, woven through that for myself, everybody has a different way of working with their own gift. For me, there's very much this, um, emotional capac- you know, capacity. It's a feeling. It's, um, I wasn't like this, but I was so derailed, and it happened when I was sold, and I thought I was connected to this person, and now I really miss my person, and I'm off my game, and now I'm doing these jumps, and I'm in this sports world.
22:00 So all the different layers of our energy, I'm sensing with all of my senses, which means I have to go to myself as a, a sensory being. Um, but for me, probably the strongest is, um, both the visual along with the emotion Nikki: All of them. All of them. And some of them are more guarded with them, just like we are. Um, some of them are shut down, just like we are. Some of them are super, super expressive like we are. I have a really cute example of a, a really expressive, um, one that I just did yesterday. I was working with a horse that's training for the, uh, World Cup finals, and, um, it is really important in, in that particular sport that at the very beginning there's a very, um, square halt before they go forward, and she gets a little prancy.
24:00 And so the question was, why is she, why is she doing that when she does the halt so perfectly at the end, and, um, she does the whole routine so beautifully? And it was she was so excited about th- with the anticipation of starting. She loved the music, that she was ... So she w- wanted to dance, and she wasn't afraid of taking up the space of the arena.
25:00 So she asked me to tell her, "I would really, really appreciate it if you do that four square halt at the very beginning, 'cause that would mean we're going to the World Cup if you do this." And so I sent her the message, and this morning I got a text saying she started doing the square halt. And so it was so cool because she is that expressive, and so that energy's already moving through her as the dance starting before, and she just wanted to like go and get her green light.
26:00 You know? Like, you can say the words to them, but you're ... All of you has to be aligned for the message to get through. There can't be one part of you that's not online. Like, you're, say you're going over a jump and your leg is saying yes, but it, everything in you is like, "I'm really scared," there's mixed messages.
27:00 They're ch- "Oh, I, I doubted that, and so this happened." Um, so it's r- it's in- it's fascinating, but where it's fascinating is that it's a path to self-discovery. It's a path to self-awareness. The more you do it, the more awareness you have of the way the universe is working and communicating through you and with you at all times.
28:00 Nikki: Yeah. There's a couple of things. Uh, the first is just really the immersion into the quiet because y- we all project onto our animals a lot of stuff that's not resolved within us. And, um, the more you know yourself, the more you're gonna recognize what's not you. So that piece is really important, th- and the only way I know how to do it is to be in, in the quietude, and really just disconnect from the outer world and visit your inner world regularly.
29:00 So if you can imagine when you're scrolling and you're on your phone and you're into the algorithm, you're into the algorithm of what you're always doing, but you're into the algorithm of collective group think. When you unplug from that, you use the same thing to say, "I'm focusing all my attention the way I would do that onto my cat."
30:00 You know, you might write about something that you feel like you're n- you know you're writing about. My horse is brown, my horse is white. You know, he's got this pink little snip on his nose. You're, you're looking at it, but if you can imagine their physicality is the end result of all this other energy that they are.
31:00 So it's to breathe slower the minute you send and shoot the question out into the field. You're playing with a quantum field. So once y- and your question is the dowsing rod And so then it sends a ripple into the field, and you're just listening to the effects of the ripple as that lasagna. You don't have to get in your head about this.
32:00 Maybe that's how your cat is on now a urinary diet. Maybe that's how a horse is now on a diet diet, and they need less calories. But you're going to feel... It's fascinating how their stomach is communicating to you, right? You're focusing on their body, and the effects in the general system then communicating with you, along with the emotion of like, "I crave more food.
33:00 So it's so fascinating 'cause it opens up doors around options. It's... And what's so cool about it is that, um, for a lot of us, we think we get to have our way with our animals because we're, one, their guardian, two, we're the only perspective that we really understand. But when you open it up to them, it's fascinating to get their feedback.
34:00 So then we have to stop with our, our agenda and slow our roll and be like, "Okay, maybe I need to explain to my dog they could be here longer. Maybe I need to take in their perspective around what it means to learn how to be three-legged," instead of going on, on the internet and finding all the dogs that really do well with three legs and how quick it is for them to adapt, and then we feel better, but we're leaving them out of the feedback loop.
35:00 Kara Goodwin: curious when you were saying, so you kind of submit the question through your writing into the field. So you were saying you're kind of communing with the quantum field. Are you in that, that way, are you directing the question toward the animal, or are you just sort of like, just putting this out there and, and I just wanna receive the information back"? I don't know if there's a difference for you, but there i- there would be for me from an operation perspective.
36:00 And then you're meeting your animal at this crossroads of your heart to their heart, and you're asking them to open up their heart. For me, I use the visual of an image of the animal. You don't need to. You know your animal. So when you're heart-to-heart, I'm focused on the sensation very much on my heart.
37:00 When your guides come in, and your ancestors and the angels, you'll feel something coming down this way, and it also simultaneously will drop into the heart. So you can focus just like you can on two notes in a chord with any piece of music. You're listening to the two notes of the chord within your heart space.
38:00 Um, and that could be the guide for the animal or the soul of the animal, right? Not just mine. But that provides information, say, okay, this dog... Say in the example of, um, a dog that might need an amputation, um, if they were gonna stay in their body longer. The dog might have resistance. Their soul might come in and their guide saying, "We're here to help the dog with this greater understanding that- There's more life and more purpose to be had if you go ahead with this, and we will support you.
39:00 So you're no longer your signature frequency. You're that plus the animal, and you're reading for the difference of your preference as you're sending the question out, knowing you're trying not to project Kara Goodwin: Well, that leads to the next question I wanted to get clarity on because I think about what you're sharing, you know, I have two cats and a dog, and so I'm thinking like, "Ooh, I wanna, I wanna play. I wanna do this," know? so I was thinking about one of my cats in particular. We got a, automatic cat litter, um, that is mechanized, you know? And, uh, one of my cats has taken to it and one hasn't. And so I keep talking to my cat and saying, "You know you wanna use this litter box. You know you want to." You know, and, and it's been this joke. Uh, I mean, not a joke. Like, I'm... I really feel that I'm trying to encourage her to be brave and to do it, you know?
41:00 Nikki: It's part of the process. I think the more you can accept it instead of tell yourself, "No, it's not like that," 'cause then you might be discarding really useful information. So like say in what you're sharing with your kitty, it's very, very probable that your very first thought was the communication from your cat.
42:00 "This is my gratitude for having it, for y- you doing it." It's a way of saying, um, "It's already happened, so I'm sending you my thanks." And when you send that with praise and relief and a release of tension, and you're breathing that exhalation to them because it's already happened, you start holding their energy field into that.
43:00 really going into something ... Like, our words are grounded, grounded in, um, certainty. You know? It's like we all agree this is a, a mug, and in the realm of energy, there's different degrees of everything. There are a lot of gray. There's a lot of gray. So when I do it, I don't use the words to absolutely define.
44:00 It- it's like painting. You, you just start with the first brush stroke, and then, uh, you might want to paint something beautiful, but when you're really mired in the process of something emerging and ref- and showing itself to you, you have to be really, really patient as the artist. And there's, there's a level of artistry or, um, maybe I would say being comfortable with being in uncertainty and being in a gray zone that is So you're just gonna notice how that color makes you feel, and then you're gonna start gathering information just because you're open at that time. You have to cultivate an openness to receive, not define. It's a receptive ... It's very feminine. It's very much, um, I'm willing to receive you and all of you, including your shadow, including what you don't like, including what I don't wanna hear.
46:00 Kara Goodwin: Okay, that's beautiful. Now, when you talked about, um, the heart field and how if ... You mentioned when we're connecting with other beings that are in this dim- Again, like, I'm ... This is how I received it, so I might not get it exactly right, so just correct me if I misunderstood something. But if, if you're connecting with an animal or a person in this realm, in this dimension, in physicality, you're having a horizontal connection through the heart, if it's guides, if it's your higher self, if it's, like, somebody who's passed over, then it's coming more from the crown and coming down into the heart. So presume that you also work with people who have pets on the other side who they wanna connect Nikki: Mm-hmm. I- if it's your own animal, I, again, your heart is the gateway, and it's just gonna open because you love them. When they're on the other side, a lot of time we have to clear grief and, um, overwhelm at their loss until we've recovered a little bit more. So a really good practice is to open up each of the gateways, each of the chakras through breath, through awareness, through slowing the mind down, the breath down, and letting the breath circulate, and really move through the chakra system.
48:00 The more you do it, the less you'll have to think about it, the less effort will be involved. Um, it'll be a no thought. You'll just go, "Okay, I'm fully ex- I'm about to do this thing, and I want your support, and I fully expect you to be here with me right now." And, um, bam, online. You're just gonna feel them merge with you, and the way you feel it is an expansion of love.
49:00 Kara Goodwin: Mm. That's so beautiful. Now, that's really fascinating too that you comment about the grief part when you wanna connect with a pet that's on the other side, and that, you know, there might be this feeling... I mean, I know, oh, God, it's so hard, uh, to, for me anyway, to lose a pet. Like, it's just, it g- it's like losing, you know, it's a m- losing a member of the family, absolutely. Um, I have a tendency when I am going through something like that to just wanna get through it really fast. I'm like, "Ugh, I hate this feeling. Let's just move through it. Let me..." And so I could see me being like, "Well, on the other side. They're still around. I know that they passed away yesterday, but let me just connect with them.
50:00 Nikki: Um, the grief is a focus on their absence, and it needs to go somewhere. It needs to be metabolized. It's an important part of the process, and everybody does it different. I'm not saying that bypassing it or compartmentalizing is not the right thing to do, 'cause you have to decide when you have the space to really process.
51:00 When you're there, it's a dense feeling. And so that's the opposite of how quick and, um, quick the, uh, and spacious and l- and how so much when light is not compressed. So grief is a compression of energy, and, um, where they are is having completely surrendered to love with no resistance to that. There's nothing on the filter that's going to compress it.
52:00 So you can be in grief, and usually when we are, we're polarized into it. All of- we're giving all of our focus, all of our attention to the grief. Can you split and be simultaneously saying, "Okay, animal nature of my body that I'm listening to, I'm gonna let you lay here, and I'm simultaneously gonna raise my vibration and open myself to be in communion with my pet on the other side," and then be receiving comfort and messages?
53:00 So you can be grief-struck and focus then on letting your body metabolize the emotions of the separation, because that, you are losing something in the physical connection, that we draw a lot of comfort from their scent and petting them, um, the routine of getting their meals prepared, and doing all the care.
54:00 And then you're gonna get smacked w- by a two-by-four and go outside. And like when my cat died, within five minutes I went outside and a hummingbird just came right in front of me. Like, literally, I could feel the frequency of the wings moving so fast, and you could hear the thrum, and I could feel it vibrating in my chest, and just stayed there for about, it, it felt like a good 30 seconds, and then gone.
55:00 Kara Goodwin: That's beautiful. you know, I- you mentioned going to, you know, kinda sink into my animal nature, so as humans, we have our animal nature, and we have our divine connection. Um, what role does the ... And I don't know, do you consider the animal nature kind of the d- the intelligence of the body, or is it something different for you?
56:00 Nikki: Um, twofold. Uh, your animal nature holds the story of how you've been living. It's a record of the past. It's your biology is a record of how you've been thinking and feeling for a lifetime. Also, your evolution. So in these upgrades that we're constantly doing when life hits and we make a choice to expand, uh, with it, it, your body will change, your biology will change, and you'll see that, you know, as weight loss or, um, getting more tone in the body or putting on weight or having a disease process that you heal from and you figure out your way through that.
57:00 So when you're really self-aware, you're also aware of the conditionings. It's like watching a movie. Just I think about doing animal communication as, uh, watching a movie. I've had to learn how to watch the movie of myself being me, and then just go, "How much truth is in that, or is that a very, very limited thought?
58:00 So when you go beyond that, there's a freedom and a new shape for you to explore that gives you new opportunity. So that's how I work with, um, my body, is just realizing it's giving me feedback all the time around this is a positive, optimistic way of looking at the world that my body's really resonating, or my negative emotion is a signal that maybe my talk, my self-talk is a little too critical.
59:00 Kara Goodwin: Mm. I love that. Well, Nikki, this has been such a beautiful discussion. I'm so grateful to have spent this time with you. Can you please tell people how they can connect with you and find out more about your work and what kind of services you offer?
1:00:00 Nikki: Um, I would say 25, 26 years, and then before that I was a critical care nurse for 10 years. And so in one way, shape, or another, I've been in the healing arts for probably 35 years
