533. Channeling Souls & Self-Trust | Connecting to Gaia & Your Intuitive Wisdom - Stephanie Banks

In this Soul Elevation episode, I sit down with intuitive channel and mentor Stephanie Banks for a heartfelt conversation about empowerment, soul communication, and trusting your inner guidance. Stephanie shares how her mother’s dementia opened the doorway for her to begin channeling—first with loved ones in body, then with souls, guides, animals, and Gaia herself.

We explore the responsibility that comes with channeling, how to discern between intuition and thought, and how presence and self-trust can deepen your connection with divine wisdom. We also talk about Gaia’s messages for humanity, the power of nature as meditation, and the rise of the divine feminine on our planet.

Stephanie’s grounded authenticity and loving insight are a refreshing reminder that you already have the capacity to connect with higher consciousness. It simply takes slowing down and tuning in.

Bio:

Stephanie Banks is a highly sought-after intuitive channel, mentor and guide who helps people connect on the soul level. She channels from the perspective of any soul currently on the planet, souls on the other side, purely non-physical beings such as spirit guides, as well as trees, animals, and Gaia.

Connection and communication are the common themes in all of Stephanie’s professional endeavors as a speech-language pathologist, birth doula, lactation consultant, infant massage instructor, and intuitive channel.

When her mother’s dementia made verbal communication impossible, Stephanie found ways to communicate with her mother’s soul. This was the beginning of her channeling journey.

As a conscious channel, Stephanie is both the vessel to receive the messages as well as a guide to provide depth and context for the information coming through. She uses her keen sense of humor, love, and compassion to join her clients in their spiritual experience.

Stephanie also mentors clients in discerning their own inner voice of wisdom, enhancing their confidence and self-trust, improving their relationships, clarifying their soul's purpose, and finding their laughter and joy.

Author of the best-seller Joining Joanie – Staying Connected To Your Loved One Through Dementia And Beyond, Stephanie is currently completing her second book about her spiritual journey. In her TEDx talk I Am an Intuitive Channel, she shares her unexpected experience with channeling and invites others to discover their own intuitive gifts.

Kara: welcome Stephanie. I'm so excited to have you here today. Thanks so much for coming on Soul Elevation.

Stephanie: to you, Kara. Thanks for having me. I'm looking forward to the unfolding of our conversation.

Kara: Me too. So I would love to start by talking about how your channeling abilities came to light, because it's a really unique story. It's really fascinating. So let's, let's just start there.

Stephanie: Yeah. So first I'll just define channeling so we're all on the same page 'cause everybody thinks of it in a different way. But[00:03:00]

Kara: Good point.

Stephanie: just connecting to divine energy and wisdom. And sometimes we can do that through souls and sometimes we can do that through spirit. And sometimes we can do that through like what we know as our spirit team or our spirit guides. The way I came to it was not having grown up exposed to it at all. I had no exposure to channeling or spiritual communication prior, but my mother had dementia from what was a considered a younger age. Her symptoms started in her late forties, and as they progressed, I found it really difficult for us to have the sort of relationship and the kind of communication that we had.

Become accustomed to. We were getting frustrated with each other. We were having all these communication breakdowns. Um, I have a lot of clinical background as a speech therapist, so I assumed I'd be well equipped to manage this,

Kara: Yes, you would think so. [00:04:00] You'd think you have the perfect profession for something like that. Wow.

Stephanie: I did. I mean, I knew everything clinically, but that doesn't work on one's own mother. Right? Like

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: she was not my best patient, let me just

Kara: Mm. Yeah.

Stephanie: I had a best friend at the time. was an intuitive channel. She did this work professionally. She was able to connect with souls that were here on the planet.

I saw her do it repeatedly and every time it astonished me. So one night I asked her we could get together and have her channel, my mom for me, because I wanted to ask my mom. What do you need from me? What are our souls here to do together? How am I, uh, how can I be in service to you? Where am I getting in your way? How do I take care of myself while also these endless needs keep coming up? You know, with, with what my mother needed for her care my friend, my best friend channeled my mom's soul, and I learned [00:05:00] exactly what. She needed and what we were here to do together. And it changed my relationship forever with her.

We were able to maintain our connection. We were able to have more fun. We were able to laugh more, be silly, more, just let a lot of things go. And I learned how to join her in her experience rather than try to fix these little or missteps that she, that were happening to her as a result of her dementia.

So when I, when I saw how. that did for this relationship. I thought, well, hmm, what happens if I could learn to channel my kids, my husband, myself,

Kara: Oh.

Stephanie: my sister, and then everything just sort of bloomed. I learned how to do it. I took classes and now I teach others how to.

Kara: Now this is really, really fascinating because you're tapping into living people. And like you say, this is not how we typically, [00:06:00] so I'm so happy that you started with, let's define what channeling is because at least in my little world, it's so often, um. Angels or departed loved ones or

Stephanie: Yeah.

Kara: or you know, but not people who are in body still here in this realm.

So you, you said you were channeling her soul. So you see it as you are channeling the animating factor within the body versus like the higher self? Or are you just kind of using that them, you know, interchangeably?

Stephanie: Yeah, that's a great question and it is definitely important to distinguish. do use soul and higher self interchangeably. That's what I mean when I say, okay, let's channel your higher self. I'm going to your soul. I'm, I'm going to that energy, that essence. you. So that's what we were channeling of my mom. So what, um, her personality is separate. From

Kara: Oh, okay.

Stephanie: right?

Kara: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: of [00:07:00] us that comes forward for many, many lifetimes, I believe, and plays out different things in different contexts with different relationships. Ultimately for the purpose of getting closer to perfect divine love, and um, and it calls in challenges our soul wants.

That's where we do our growth. So this relationship with my mother was very challenging, not just because of her dementia, because of pre-existing mother-daughter stuff that I

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: of us can identify with is complicated and challenging. our souls were meant to do this dance together while also sorting out what she needed as someone who had more. Because of her cognitive issues and that's what I am, that's what we were channeling from the soul aspect of her, the part of her that has many histories of many lifetimes and is bringing forward a very rich experience and has specific needs to help her to grow.

Kara: Hmm. That's beautiful. You know, it really makes me think of the telepathy tapes. I'm sure you're familiar with the telepathy tapes, but you know, if there's [00:08:00] anybody who's, you know, I, I have been sent this this year in 2025. There was that period right when it really boomed kind of at the beginning of the year, and I was, people were sending it to me multiple times a day.

Have you heard of this? Have you heard of this? So I bet it's the same for you because it. It really, it's different scenarios, but in case there is anybody who hasn't heard of this, these are non-speaking people with autism and the parents and the teachers, but they're experiencing telepathy and they're, this podcast went in and did a lot of experiments and really came at it from a, a sort of scientific material worlds, you know, perspective and uncovered some really jaw dropping.

Um, results and really has started to open up this idea within the mainstream of, you know, there's really a lot more going on than we, than we think, you know, in the mainstream. But, um, have you listened to that and does it resonate with Yeah.

Stephanie: of them, [00:09:00] yes. I mean, honestly, I, it's

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: And as a speech pathologist who has worked with people with autism, this is just a body of work that I've been personally waiting for. And like you said, it's scientifically founded. The research that they're doing is. excellent excellent quality research.

It cannot be poked, you can't poke holes in it. It's really, really well done. So yeah, this is it. This, this is soul communication. You can call it telepathy. I still call it channeling.

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: under the umbrella to me of channeling.

Kara: Yeah. And I, I presume that your mom couldn't really understand how you were connecting with her, but it sounds like it really helped to smooth the, the interactions from that point after you got that information.

Stephanie: It did. Absolutely, because I was able to understand her from her more vast perspective as a soul

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: depersonalize. I had this opportunity to depersonalize everything that I had been making personal to me, which is [00:10:00] not. It's just not helpful or useful to do that.

Kara: And it's fascinating that you talk about that. You've, you know, the idea of I can do this with my kids, I can do this with my husband, with myself. Um.

Stephanie: Yes.

Kara: I'm curious from, you've undergone training and I presume that you, you know, you have clients and, and so you have a lot of, a lot of people that you don't have any background on, but with it's, you are so entangled with your kids and yourself and your husband, is there a challenge or at least a difference there in terms of channeling for somebody that you know so well versus cold?

Stephanie: Oh, absolutely. So luckily my mentors would guide me not to channel my children right away, or my husband at the time right away because you are so, I'm so close to it and enmeshed with it. It's impossible at [00:11:00] first to sort of separate that out. You gotta do a lot of work internally to get to the place where you can be a clear channel.

It's beautiful work. It's definitely worthwhile, but it's, I, I teach now, like keep the stuff that you have perspective or attachments around separate. Pay someone to do that or find a friend who's very intuitive and ask for, for that support because we're just not, we're, we're, we're biased with so many things, and I certainly have my own personal biases, and sometimes when I'm working with a client, if there's an issue that I have a strong feeling about, I will say I am not neutral here. I'm

Kara: Um.

Stephanie: for you, and that's going to come from a neutral, loving place, but as we process it, I want you to know, I don't hold neutrality here. I

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: for you, or I'm going to sound a little stronger about this because that's the personality of me coming through.

Kara: And bless you for doing that because because there, there's [00:12:00] so much authenticity with that. You know, what we're seeing a lot or what I'm, what I'm observing anyway, I mean I'm fascinating fa fascinated by channeling and there are some very talented if, if we wanna use that term, channels. And there are some people who sometimes it does feel like their biases are coming in and, but they have a massive following and so they've got these people who are just like, whatever, so and so says whatever they say, whatever they say.

And if you're stepping back, it can be like, okay, I, I don't necessarily dislike what this person is saying because it's reflecting maybe what I, but, but. It doesn't feel neutral, like it Mm-hmm feel, it feels like that so-and-so's you know, bleed through there. So I really love that you are, you know, upholding your authenticity [00:13:00] so that you can be clear about that and say like, I'll, I'll still do this, but I want you to know like this, you know, you're get, you're getting the message through a messenger and there can be some coloring, I guess with that.

Stephanie: and I honestly believe this is the case with anyone who does this work. I don't know anyone that completely removes their themself, like their lived experience or their belief system.

Kara: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: get really, really close to. Doing that, but we're still having the human experience and this is still coming through the human.

You know my expression. And that's okay, right?

Kara: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: to have perfection really in any arena. And the other thing I tell my clients is I. You know, unfortunately for my Type A personality, I don't get to choose the messages or, um, what comes through or have them sound a certain way. so it's really up to my clients to discern through their [00:14:00] body and through their energetic being what resonates and what doesn't.

And if something doesn't resonate, I always tell them, let it float on by. Not for you right now. Maybe not for you ever, something that I trust you were meant to hear because it did come through. Um, but nothing you have to agree with, attach to, um, follow directives around. We have to be, we have to trust ourselves and that's ultimately what I wanna teach everybody and encourage everybody to do.

Trust your knowing, your intuition. It's gonna be what's best for you.

Kara: I love that too. I think that is so important because that's another, I feel like that's another, um. Milestone humanity's reaching for right now, whether people individually understand that or not, but that's a, a big, strong theme. And we may move away from like religion, where we have a priest telling us this is is what to think, this is what to how to vote.

This is, you know, whatever. This is where you went, right? [00:15:00] I forgive you for the, you know, all of these things. And we may be ready to say, okay, I'm done with that. I, I see through that. Now that is not. Right. But we may just then find the next, you know, oh, okay, well this channel, you know, let me hand everything over to them.

And that's the be all and end all. And I think there are still a lot of people who are there. Um, and so it's really important again, that we have people advocating for the, you know, the person who is partic, you know, who is receiving the message. It makes me think of a, a time a few years ago and I was at a retreat and.

There was somebody channeling on stage and you know, she was apparently in a channeled state, but somebody asked a question and she said, and this person kind of had a costume on Hmm was, you know, literally was wearing a costume. Just so made a statement, like walked into the room and like that you noticed that person, um, and flat out said [00:16:00] to them like.

You're trying too hard and, you know, and, and um, that when they, when they asked a question and, and I just thought, you know, that seems as though you're using an excuse like. You're in a channeled state and you think you can say whatever you want, but you're actually say getting something off of your chest, you know?

Stephanie: Yeah

Kara: And so it, and that the other person took it really well, but I was horrified for them. You know, it was like, oh my gosh, what a horrible thing to be told in front of this whole auditorium of people. Um, and you're just, you know, asking this question and. Again, it just felt like an excuse or like a, a, a pass, you know, like a, well, oh, it's not me,

Stephanie: Right

Kara: the channel.

You know? And so it, it, I just, again, it's, it's refreshing and it's important and it's empowering and I think that [00:17:00] these are all things that we all need to, um, just be, be alert Mm-hmm

Mm-hmm Mm-hmm do this, so how, what advice do you have for people who would love to connect deeper to their souls, their intuition, their families?

How can people start?

Stephanie: well I started by reading, you know, I just grabbed all the books I could find way back then for me it was, um, I really liked Sonia Settes books and work, so

Kara: Oh, I haven't heard of her. Okay.

Stephanie: a, she's a world renowned psychic medium, and I just, I don't know, something in her essence or energy really drew me. So I read books around that.

Now you can, now you can just hop on, you know? YouTube and find like just do a search for how to learn to channel and you'll have [00:18:00] hundreds of options literally. But it wasn't that way back when I was curious about channeling and wanting to learn. So I think observing others doing the work and finding the one or ones that you feel very deep resonance.

With, and then kind of stick with their body of work as long as it continues to resonate. Because just watching and observing, you're taking stuff in, you're, you're seeing what's possible and it's indeed likely that as that person is teaching or sharing or channeling or whatever it is, you will start to receive messages too.

That's how it happened for me. I used to sit with my best friend who would channel for groups. I'd sit right next to her. I was like the timekeeper and, um. Over time, I noticed, wait a second, I'm hearing something.

Kara: Oh.

Stephanie: receiving connection and communication, and then it took me years before I believed it, I trusted it, before I [00:19:00] allowed myself to say. Alright. If I'm meant to serve and, and do this as well, then yes, I'm ready to do so. And then things really opened up for me. But it's a process and find, find the work or the teachings that lighten your heart, if anything feels scary, if anything feels dark, if anything feels absolute in nature, I, I would guide you to keep looking because for me, channeling is one of the most joyful things I do every single day. And spirit is joyful. There is no darkness or heaviness to, for me, in connecting to spirit, it's all love and it's, I, I channel from fifth dimensional consciousness, which is known as unity consciousness, and that is all love. that's what I recommend, and everybody's path to it is a little bit differently, but what I would want everybody to know is you can channel, you're already doing it, you just don't know. If you do art, that's channeling. If you create music that is [00:20:00] channeling any, any dance. Dance is channeling through movement. Prayer is a form of channeling, like connecting to divine, having conversation with divine. There's so many variations of it. You're probably doing it already. You just don't know.

Kara: Wow, that, that's so cool. And I love how you talk about the, you know, the resonance and feeling the resonance within it made me think, have. Has it been a smooth road, like as you've connected, because you're at a different level of mastery now, you know, than you were when you started. Were there, have there been experiences where you're like, wait a minute, let's back up here.

I don't, you know, I, I didn't, I don't like what I've connected with or anything.

Stephanie: yeah, definitely. But luckily, very limited in number. I can count on one hand the number of sessions I have that have felt not good to me at all, if I trace back each example of that, I overrode my intuition and even taking on that client in the [00:21:00] first place. So. So. it's on me.

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: I went against what I felt was like, this is just simply not for me.

Now I can recognize it. You were speaking before Kara, about, um, how people can get swept up into the group, sort of, you

Kara: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: and dynamic, especially if there's a stage and someone's on the stage and there. Performing their channeling or offering their channeling. There is like this shared group mentality, which I am is, is really tricky because I do believe we're meant to be individually discerning on what is true or not true for us. And maybe that person who was receiving the message that you said, they seemed okay with it, maybe they were, maybe they weren't being okay with something while in the context of a group of people who are all. for you now and, and empathizing with you. We can mask that, right? We can make

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: if it was a woman.

We're, we're very well trained in this.[00:22:00]

Kara: Yes.

Stephanie: but what I have found to be something of a learning curve for me is I now can sense when a client becomes overly, um, like they're, they're needing. Me to channel something for them instead of them being able to tap in or trust what's there for them. And this happens when people are in acute states sometimes of, um, loss or grief, right? And it happens when we're just kind of in, uh, like emotions are running really high and we're, we haven't. Sorted or sifted through what's ours, what's not ours, and I can, my guides now tell me pretty clearly you're, you're complete with this person. Like show them some other avenues so they can do this and tap in for themselves.

But if you are to continue to channel for them, [00:23:00] Stephanie, um, you're making them dependent. And

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: I'm really, because my guidance is so phenomenal with me now, and I trust it implicitly. I know I'm not, that's not the nature of the work that I am here to do. I love working with people. I love working with people for months at a time, but I also can feel and sense when they're, when they have put all of their trust in, whatever comes through my channeling and, and I'd never want to, what's the word I'm looking for, like. Hijack that, you know, I, I

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: to protect their right to their own truth and their access points to it. It cannot just be me. So there are times when I've said to clients, this doesn't feel like it's gonna be in the highest service to your growth right now. This is not personal. I adore you. I do. You know, here's some things I would guide you to read or to explore or to do, um, and we can revisit in a little bit.

Let's see.

Kara: Yeah. Well again, bless you for [00:24:00] that because that is really important and it's not an easy. E choice as a human, you know, when it's your work. And we, we all have that sort of, um, you know, that we, we don't want to let somebody down. We don't want to, you know, have somebody misunderstand and all, all of that.

It gets complicated, but it is really important. It's so important and, um, and it's important for all of us listening to also recognize the role that you know, because. You're in the minority of people who will proactively do that, Mm-hmm

Right right Right Mm-hmm of, you know, we'll, we'll just keep replaying this.

Stephanie: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's, yes, you're absolutely right. And that happens sometimes because we do need a lot of repetition.

Kara: Yeah, of [00:25:00] course.

Stephanie: it learns. Um,

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: there's a stuckness and a dependency, that's

Kara: Right,

Stephanie: not in service anymore.

Kara: right.

Stephanie: opinion.

Kara: Yeah, I, I agree with you. So through your channeling, you've talked about how you connect with the fifth dimension. Is there any sort of connection to the planet with that? We've got the planet going through this massive transition right now. Um, is, are there things that you've learned about Gaia.

Stephanie: Yeah.

Kara: Through your channeling.

Stephanie: Oh yeah, yeah. Gaia and I are tight. I love channeling Gaia. Um, and what's beautiful is I find more and more people are asking me to channel her. How can they be in greater service to her? What does she need? a lot of. Divine feminine energy rising right now, thankfully.

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: And that is the nurturing, caring, regenerative energy that the planet is calling forward. So [00:26:00] yes, to me, this is my greatest use right now. I mean, I'm all about serving humans, definitely, but serving humans who are in service to the planet. Yes,

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: And despite what some are saying, the planet is suffering greatly.

Kara: Hmm.

Stephanie: an okay, you know, it's, it's just a means to an end. No, we are losing species every second. We are losing life every second. We are, you know, clear cutting force every, like, this needs to stop. This is not what we were trusted as the guardians, you know, of, of this beautiful living, breathing planet to do. It's not, it's not a foregone conclusion. So that's a lot of what comes through her as well, is. than the way I just said it. Um, but she always, she invites us. She invites us to connect with the smallest of her beings. The ones that would go unnoticed. The worms on the sidewalk, the beetles on the, [00:27:00] you know, trees, the, the tiniest of the tiny, be curious, get closer, make observation connect.

She invites us to talk to the tree beings, which I do regularly. They do communicate back. invites us to fall back in love with what is our nature, because it's not us. And then nature, we are nature. It's all a oneness. We're part of a, an intricate web of life, it's this, um, invitation and invocation to be, to remember that, to come home to that because then we love it once again.

And what we love, we can protect and we can serve.

Kara: I love that. That's so beautiful And, and it's so funny that you just said we are nature, we are not like part of like we are it. And I literally just wrote a blog about this and it, I think it went out like. Three hours ago or something where I was like, you are [00:28:00] nature, you're, it's not something that's out there like you are it.

So get out there in there. I, um, I love sacred geometry and I've been doing a ton of sacred geometry the last few weeks, and one of the things that I am spell bound by is going out into nature and it's like. These patterns are everywhere in nature. It's, it's like this cosmic joke. I don't know if you've ever done like psilocybin or anything.

I've, I have a little bit of experience with it. Um, but I, that's been one of the, the, I, it's makes it, I mean like I've found it hilarious in that state where I'm like, oh my God, it's everywhere. It's everywhere. Like you're in a forest and it's just like. It's all communicating to us the color, you know, the, the photosynthesis that we receive through the eyes.

Like it's, it's not even just the, the fact of, oh, [00:29:00] okay, I'm seeing green. It's activating my heart. I mean, that is it, but it's also like. We are absorbing it. We, you know, and, and you're not having to actively do it. You know, it's like it's happening under the surface, even if you're not noticing, like, wow, that leaf reflects the Fibonacci sequence in the same way that like a seashell does.

And it's all, like, all these patterns are everywhere. The color, like the natural colors and the spectrum of colors and the. Sounds and the minerals that you breathe in through your, you know, just by being there, you're breathing in minerals and, and then what's happening at the subtle level that you pick up on, you know, that a channel can come in and be like, wow, there really is like even so much more going on in terms of communication.

Even beyond just that receptive mode. It's just fascinating. I love it so much.

Stephanie: Thank you for geeking out on all of that.

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: That was awesome. It was reminding me of [00:30:00] when my kids were in Montessori and they came home talking about sacred geometry and the Fibonacci sequence and everything. And we would go outside and they would see the things and I'd be, I'd be astonished 'cause I

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: from my Montessori days.

But yes, there is so much going on. this world outside of

Kara: Mm. Yes.

Stephanie: need to, we deserve to be a part of that. There's an entire communication network in the forest floor. The mycelial network, like trees are communicating with each other. Hey, I'm sick. I need some sugars. Okay, no problem. We got you covered.

They send the sugars. Um, over here there's a pest. This is literally what's happening. It's been studied in labs. It's been shown and proven, and then they send anti pest chemicals, you know, to one another and alert one another to infestations that are happening. Like it is brilliant and it is mind blowing and it is thrilling and exciting.

And here we [00:31:00] are. Under, you know, under a roof and walls for how many hours every day, and we're missing out on this? Oh,

Kara: Yeah.

Stephanie: no. That's not why I came to the planet. I came to the planet to be in all of this, to be part of all this, to be awestruck by all of this.

Kara: Right. I love that. Thank you for bringing the science into it as well, because that is, it is fascinating what they're catching up to, you know, in terms of what the communication is that's happening and the story, the studies on forest bathing and what happens to our nervous system system and all these chemical processes that happen where, you know, just by stepping into that environment, it's, it's such a cheat code.

You know,

Stephanie: yes

Kara: it's like, just go and, you know, you can, and I'm a big meditator, so I'm not gonna tell anybody not to meditate, but like, you know, you want the results of a cumulative meditation practice and a [00:32:00] regular meditation practice and, you know, you can have similar effects by regularly engaging in with nature, you know, deliberately and conscientiously.

So,

Stephanie: It's a

Kara: so beautiful. Yeah. Yeah.

Stephanie: it's a form of meditation. So, um, you don't always have to sit in silence, you know, and have a mantra to be considered meditating. Go, go

Kara: Right.

Stephanie: that is meditative.

Kara: Yes, absolutely. So you, you shared a lit, like, we kind of skirted around this a little bit when you were talking about something else, but, um, I wanted to ask you directly the discernment between intuition and thoughts. I know that was something that you were, that you know, in the beginning is really difficult to sort out.

But how have you developed that and what is it like now?

Stephanie: Yeah, so. Let's see, thoughts. That's such a complicated thing. 'cause it, it can be [00:33:00] nearly impossible to distinguish between what's coming through and like what we're thinking. But I will say this, let's, let's look at it from the angles of imagination intuition or channeling. And a lot of people who want to learn to channel or trust their intuition more will say, well, what if I'm just making this up. Right, and there's, our culture has taught us. I don't know why, but that imagination isn't real. know, and that anything that comes through what we, what we think up or make up or comes through, imagination isn't real. And yet you can look behind me and see every object and book on my shelf was first imagined before it came into form, before it became what, what we see now.

So imagination is very real, and that's the place that channeling comes through. Um, I would not be able to channel if I didn't have. My imagination, I wouldn't be able to see the images. I wouldn't be able to have the depth of understanding and the connection of the stories that come up if I didn't have this vast space of, you know. [00:34:00] Imagery, being able to see something that I don't even know, but that's coming together for me. we can tell there's a totally different frequency in fear. You know, fearful thoughts versus intuition. Intuition will never sound scary. will usually not yell. Or have this very loud insistent. It's a su, it's on the subtle level. So our job is to attune our frequency to the subtle realm rather than being in the hyped up, amped up state of. What's being cultivated now in the outer world, this is where meditation comes in or forest bathing, or time in nature. When you calibrate your frequency to a more subtle, settled, calm state, you'll be able to sense and feel and understand what's coming through you either channeling and intuitively I'm using the two interchangeably because. I call it intuitive channeling, right? [00:35:00] That's that's what it is. it's a, the body will tell you if you're looking for, well, how do I sort it out? When you have constricted thoughts or fearful thoughts, the body's gonna show you constriction and fear. It's gonna show you an increase in your cortisol or your adrenaline or the stress hormones.

You're gonna feel braced or fight or flight. And when it's the opposite, when you're in just the inner knowing. That's peace and that's expansion. And your body will reflect that too. You might wanna lean in, you might feel a warmth, you might feel like. Just taking a nice deep breath. So I always find that the bo using the body as a tool to discern what's so, what's fear or thought based, um, and what is intuitive.

And internally, uh, internal truth is the best calibration tool because it will never lie. It can't lie. Your body can't lie. It doesn't even know how to. [00:36:00] It's the mind. The mind lies.

Kara: Hmm. I love it. Yes. So true with the subtlety. It is, it's a whisper. And so when we're wanting to be beaten over the head, you know, that's one of the. One of the things with modern times too, is everything is so fast, it's so instantaneous. I've been thinking about this with, um, AI as well. How like, you know, you can get things done so fast, but we rely on it even for creative things and that.

That, um, the, the quickness, which does give us some time back theoretically, if we can reinvest that time wisely. Um, but because everything's quick, I feel like there's a knock on effect of the hesitancy or the resistance to just sit with something to let it bubble up, to let your own. Authenticity come through and, you [00:37:00] know, I'm a busy person.

Like I'm not trying to make anybody feel guilty. I use AI too. I've gotta, you know, get my, get myself started on some show notes or whatever it might be. And it's very helpful. But there, I, I would encourage and I encourage myself to, you know, allow that. That creative time allow that time of not being hurried Mm-hmm because there is that, that subtlety, it can't, you can't read it and notice it when you're going a hundred miles an hour.

And in modern life, we do go a hundred miles an hour. We're encouraged to go a hundred miles an hour. We're constantly trying to find shortcuts to everything. We're encouraged to find shortcuts to everything. But again, that there aren't really, I, I mean, I haven't found 'em, I haven't really found the shortcuts to really being able to [00:38:00] perceive the energy that's running through and to, to really like embody it and to feel it and to sense into it that that subtlety does take.

Some patience and it takes some deliberate, you know, and, and I know a lot of spiritual teachers and there are a lot of people who are like, Nope, I can cut, I can, we can go faster. I can cut it, you know? And. Maybe, maybe I just haven't tried everything and maybe somebody does have a super, you know, shortcut way that is effective.

Who am I to say? But I know in my experience that, that it's like the, the slow food type of thing, Hmm you know, it's like getting those flavors out. It just, they're, it's hard to slow cook in a microwave, you know?

yes

Stephanie: yes. And it requires our presence and presence

Can't be rushed. Like that. The two, you can't even combine a sentence with the two and make sense [00:39:00] because our full presence is something that is, it inhabits the entirety of the moment. And that's not

Kara: Yes.

Stephanie: that we say, I'm just gonna be fully present for this next 30 seconds and I'm gonna zoom off and do the next thing. That it doesn't really work like that. And it does take practice, I think, to drop into one's own state of full presence. So I agree with you and I love, I love the example of the slow food movement. It reminds me of a dear uncle who's on the other side, who used to send me information about that all the time. I think we're in a time where we're. We must come back to that. That's actually the answer, part of the answer we've been looking for all this time. It's not more and faster. It's the exact opposite. It's. Bringing ourselves back into the present moment, scanning and understanding for what's here, what's ours to do, what's the most important.

Not everything has to happen from a state of urgency [00:40:00] really deeply listening. And that takes presence, and presence takes all the time it takes.

Kara: Yes. That's beautifully said. Wow. Well, this has just been such a full discussion. I've enjoyed it so much. Uh, please tell people how they can connect with you and find out more.

Intuitive Channel
