The Spiritual Activity Most People Want to Bypass

Meditation Is Not Optional for Spiritual Growth (Here's Why)
It’s always amazing to me how many spiritually curious people want to bypass meditation.
I say that with complete compassion and full honesty, because I’ve been guiding meditation for several years now, and I’ve witnessed firsthand how this practice changes lives, including my own.
Yet I also hear the same spiritual bypassing phrases on repeat:
❝My life is a meditation.❞
❝I move through the world meditatively.❞
❝I just connect through nature—do I really need to sit down and meditate?❞
And while I love being in nature, and I do believe we can live in a mindful way…
💥 That’s not the same thing as intentionally stilling your body and connecting with your soul on a daily basis.
The Truth Is: Every Spiritual Master Has a Practice
Whether it’s a Tibetan Lama, a Hawaiian Kahuna, a Native American shaman, or a Sufi mystic—you will not find a true spiritual master who doesn’t commit to some form of daily spiritual discipline.
Meditation is not just a cute habit for when you feel like it.
It’s how you train your awareness to reside in your soul rather than in your thoughts.
In episode 460 of Soul Elevation, I get real about the excuses we make, why we resist what we say we want, and how meditation can open the door to:
-
Spiritual connection with your higher self
-
Physical healing and emotional regulation
-
Rewriting subconscious beliefs that no longer serve you
-
Quantum leaps in your vibrational frequency
This episode is part pep talk, part wake-up call, and part energetic activation.
But I Can’t Meditate… My Mind Won’t Stop Racing
Let me lovingly bust this myth.
If your mind is constantly bouncing between thoughts…
If your anxiety ramps up as soon as you get still…
If you’ve “tried meditating” once or twice and gave up because it was hard…
That doesn’t mean you can’t meditate.
It means you desperately need it.
No one is “bad” at meditation. You’re just new to it.
And just like no one sits down at a piano and plays Mozart on Day 1, you’re not expected to instantly become a monk. But your body, your nervous system, and your soul will adapt and awaken—if you keep showing up.
The Lie We Tell Ourselves: “I Don’t Have Time”
Let’s be real: you’re already filling your time. The question is with what?
Scrolling. Consuming. Distracting. Hustling.
If you audit your day, you’ll likely find 10–15 minutes that could be transformed into sacred time for inner alignment. That’s where true power lies.
✨ Because if you want your external life to change, you must change your inner frequency first. And meditation is the fastest way to recalibrate your vibration.
What Helped Me Most: A Teacher, a Method, and a Community
When I first started meditating, I had no idea what I was doing. I was in a storm of trauma, grieving deaths, navigating family health crises, and feeling completely unanchored. I was merely looking for survival, not spirituality.
But once I found a teacher who helped me understand what I was actually doing during meditation, everything changed. I committed to a daily practice. And over time, it didn’t just soothe my nervous system, it awakened my soul.
That’s why I created:
-
My 21-Day Learn to Meditate self-paced course
-
The Healing Hearth—my online meditation community where we gather for live meditations each week and support one another on the path
When you join the course, you’ll get 2 free months of Healing Hearth so you can practice in sacred space with others.
Still Struggling to Sit? You Might Need a Detox
Sometimes when our minds won’t slow down, it’s not just mental—it’s energetic and physical. You might be:
-
Consuming low-vibrational foods
-
Carrying heavy metal or parasitic loads in the body
-
Relying on caffeine, sugar, or alcohol to get through the day
In these cases, your body is literally too overstimulated to allow stillness. A cleanse or detox might be the reset your system needs to allow clearer spiritual connection.
TL;DR: Stop Lying to Yourself 🙃
This might sound blunt, but I say it with so much love:
If you're telling yourself you're “living a meditation” but you aren't sitting down with your soul daily, you’re lying to yourself.
You can go deeper.
You can elevate your frequency.
You can experience miraculous shifts.
But not if you keep repeating the same choices that are keeping you where you are.
