Authentic Spirituality, AI, and Discernment in a Rapidly Changing World

We are living in a time of unprecedented change. In episode 544 of Soul Elevation, I explore how artificial intelligence has rapidly become integrated into nearly every aspect of our lives - how people create art, write books, communicate online, and even explore spirituality. While there are truly fascinating possibilities with AI, it also raises important questions about authenticity, discernment, and what it truly means to evolve spiritually.
As we navigate this time of accelerated evolving consciousness, many people are beginning to feel a subtle but powerful shift. What began as excitement for AI generated content seems to be changing. I feel it within myself, and I hear whispers of it among the populace. There seems to be a longing for what feels real, alive, and organically connected.
One of the earliest lessons many of us encounter on the spiritual path is the idea that we must behave a certain way to be considered “spiritual.” I know I have come up against this many times. There can be a pressure to outgrow enthusiasm, competition, joy, or everyday human interests. But perhaps authenticity does not require the erasure of what makes us uniquely alive. The longer I am on my spiritual path, the more I recognize that there is no one right way to go about it, and the "rules" brought forth by those we consider leaders are possibly false limitations.
In my opinion and experience, spiritual growth is not about shrinking into a narrow definition of enlightenment. It is about expanding into your full expression, while also connecting to higher consciousness. You can love sports, art, humor, creativity, and still be deeply spiritual. Your authenticity of what lights you up is not an obstacle on your spiritual path, but could even be a doorway.
AI and the Question of Authentic Connection
Artificial intelligence has become a powerful mirror, reflecting our modern desire for speed, efficiency, and immediate answers. In the spiritual growth area of life, this can show up as using AI to for spiritual connection and guidance from higher dimensional beings, channeled messages, or to bypass the slower work of true inner development.
While there are thoughtful and ethical conversations happening around AI and consciousness, I also sense a growing fatigue across the board for this infiltration of artificiality. Many people can now sense a recognizable AI signature in writing, art, and even spiritual messaging. As we become familiar with the AI patterns in these creative arenas, something begins to feel hollow, repetitive, or disconnected. This doesn't mean AI has no place in conscious evolution, but it begs us to utilize our human discernment.
Fast Food Spirituality vs Living Depth
There is a meaningful difference between convenience and depth. AI can offer instant responses, but spiritual wisdom is often cultivated through presence, integration, and self inquiry. True connection and growth happens through inner listening, shadow work, embodiment, and lived awareness. Real spiritual depth is not something that can be instantly given. It is something that we cultivate through experience and time. Even if we are presented with deep spiritual truths on a silver platter, if we are not ready for it psychologically, if our nervous systems can't handle or hold it, then it is nothing more than mental fodder.
Think about the difference between a carefully prepared meal that contains intention, nourishment, and life force, and contrast that with fast food that is hastily prepared by unseen hands in a sterile, bleak environment. Spiritual growth and connection deepens when we engage fully with ourselves. We are required to slow down, feel into what resonates, and honor the organic intelligence within us.
It is wise to remember that many traditions recognize the existence of non human intelligences and higher dimensional awareness, and that not all intelligence is benevolent, truthful, or aligned with your highest good. Whether guidance comes through meditation, channeling, technology, or another human being serving as a medium, your discernment remains essential. The ability to feel what is alive, aligned, and resonant within your body and nervous system cannot be outsourced. You must develop your own intuition. There is no substitute for your own discernment.
As AI evolves, so does the invitation for humans to reclaim their inner authority. We must remain balanced and remember that wisdom comes through direct experience, embodied presence, and conscious relationship with life itself.
Authentic spirituality requires that you trust your own knowing. Question what feels off, move toward what feels alive, coherent, and expansive, and honor your path without needing to copy anyone else’s.
The Invitation of 2026
What feels clear to me is that authenticity is rising to the forefront of collective consciousness in 2026. People are craving depth rather than shortcuts. The spiritual path isn't about perfection. It's always about remembrance. Remember who you are and your connection to higher consciousness. Your discernment, intuition, and integrity are your greatest guides, and you can continue to develop and refine those every day.
Regardless of the tools available outside of yourself and how shiny and tempting they may be to advance you in your spiritual journey, it is always - and will remain - an inside job. The true answers you seek will come from within.
