My Live Third Eye Activation: A Mysterious Beginning to My Awakening

Before I had any idea what a spiritual awakening even was, something completely unexpected happened to me. In fact, I didn’t actually realize its significance until years later. It all began with a bizarre visual disturbance, and what followed completely changed the course of my life.

In episode 458 of Soul Elevation, I share the strange but powerful experience that I now understand was the activation of my third eye, a process that unfolded before I even had the spiritual framework to interpret it.

The Symptom That Made No Sense (At the Time)

Back in 2016, I was living in Italy with my family. One day while driving to the mountains, I started seeing a black and white checkerboard circle spinning in my peripheral vision. I had suffered from ocular migraines for about 15 years, so I assumed it was another one. However, the expected headache never came. And unlike any migraine I’d had before, this visual distortion didn’t disappear after a few hours or even a day.

It persisted for nearly four months.

I consulted optometrists, went to the hospital, had extensive testing done, and even stopped running (I was an avid runner at the time) because one doctor feared a detached macula. Yet the medical explanation didn’t match my experience. I was left confused, unsettled, and deeply curious.

Understanding the Third Eye and the Pineal Gland

Only later, once I began diving deeply into the spiritual and energetic aspects of reality, did I begin to understand what had happened. The third eye, associated with the pineal gland, is the energetic and physiological seat of inner vision—our intuition, our psychic sight, and our connection to the soul.

What I was experiencing was not a migraine at all. It was the activation of my third eye.

And while I had no idea at the time, that unusual visual pattern was a precursor to my spiritual awakening.

A Cascade of Life-Altering Events

Just a few months after this strange visual phenomenon began, my world was turned upside down. In the following months:

• My sister-in-law tragically took her life.

• Our beloved dog passed.

• My stepdad underwent brainstem surgery.

• My mother-in-law was hit by a motorbike and hospitalized.

• My stepmom entered the ICU with heart failure and later had a heart transplant.

This intense series of events broke me open.

I turned to meditation as a survival tool. Through mediation, my spiritual awakening began.

Spiritual Awakening Isn’t Always Gentle

People often imagine awakenings as blissful and serene. But mine was chaotic, physical, and confusing. I didn’t connect the visual symptoms to the awakening for a long time, because I lacked the language, understanding, and context.

But in hindsight, I can see that the visual activation was the energetic preparation. My pineal gland—deep in the center of the brain, containing photoreceptive cells like rods and cones—was coming online.

You Are More Than Just a Body

The energetic and physical are not separate. Your body is an expression of your spirit, and changes in consciousness can and do show up physically, especially during a spiritual awakening.

So if you’re experiencing odd symptoms like visual anomalies, inner vibrations, or a sense of reality shifting, you might be undergoing your own third eye opening or energetic upgrade.

Still, I always recommend checking with a medical professional. It is important to lovingly care for yourself in the most complete way, without assuming what could be a medical issue is solitarily spiritual in nature.

Your Awakening May Already Be Underway

Looking back, I believe I was moving into a higher timeline, and my third eye was beginning to open as a way to prepare me for the transformation ahead.

Spiritual awakening is not always linear or obvious. But the soul always knows.
