544. Authentic Spirituality, AI, and Discernment in a Rapidly Changing World

Kara Goodwin: Hello and welcome to Soul Elevation Guiding Your Ascension to New Heights. I'm your host, Kara Goodwin. I know not all of you will be able to see me because a lot of you listen to this on the audio rather than the video. But if you are watching the video, I have my IU shirt on. I'm recording this on Monday, January 19th, and today's a very exciting day for me as an Indiana University alumni, where our football team is in the national Championship game tonight, which is really, really exciting because we've been.

Terrible. We've been, we've like had the longest losing streak or the most losses in all of college history or some crazy statistic like that. And now we're like this force and it's really, really exciting. So, um, so I'm proud to wear my [00:01:00] Indiana University um, shirt. And I know that some of you are watching and you aren't even American, so you might be seeing a symbol on my shirt and be like, I have no idea what is even on her shirt.

What is that symbol? Um, so anyway, thank you for sharing my enthusiasm and my excitement. This is not what I'm gonna be talking about, but I, it's like for me, it's like the elephant in the room. I'm so excited about this game and it's really special because. There's just such a community feel, you know, this kind of feels like it's come out of the blue and there's just so much excitement in the air, and it's, it's just very fun.

I know that a lot of people, uh, in the spiritual community kind of don't, uh, at least I've come across, you know, oh, you've gotta evolve beyond competition and beyond sports. I get it. [00:02:00] If you're not into sports, that's fine. Um, but for me to be an authentic expression of who I am and to not like tap myself, tamper myself down into some box that I think I'm supposed to be in as a spiritual being, which is like, oh, I don't participate in sports or competition or, you know, that I'm above that.

Um, I don't, I don't buy into that. Um, and I, that speaks to a broader sense of what I want you to think about in terms of, you know, we're all kind of developing our spirituality and we might hear from certain. Talking heads that, you know, this is how you act when you're spiritual. You don't make jokes, you don't get excited about banal things like sporting events.

And I just want to encourage you to expand your, um, your perception of what it means to be spiritual, how you are spiritual, [00:03:00] what it, how you carry that in yourself and not turning off. Parts of you that you love, that you enjoy, the ways that you enjoy life, not turning off those parts of you because you think you have to act a certain way in order to evolve spiritually.

I know that that was something that I, that was a place I found myself early on in my journey where I had joined a spiritual organization and they taught me how to quote unquote, you know, what my, what kind of music I should like. What kind of art I should like, and it was all very folksy and not stuff that I was particularly naturally drawn to.

But I tried to fit myself into those kinds of expressions, um, because I thought that that's what I needed to do in order to express myself spiritually. But there are a lot of pathways and you can still hold on to. The things that you [00:04:00] naturally enjoy and love and still be a spiritual person. And I think that's what you're here to do.

I think you're here to be this unique expression of who you truly are and connect with your higher self. And it may mean that you evolve and you have some new interests and some new things, and you let some things go and that can be part of it. Just recognize that you don't have to fit into anybody else's box.

You don't have to have the same path as anybody else. I think it's a, a really important, um, thing to realize for all of us who are on the spiritual journey. But anyway, that was a little bit of a, of a digression because what I really wanna talk about is I, I've been thinking more about. Artificial intelligence, ai, the role of authenticity in our path.

And so I do wanna talk about what we've already been talking about. 'cause it's about authenticity and spiritual [00:05:00] progress, spiritual development, and how these things kind of are all converging in the times that we find ourselves in. Because AI has just exploded in the last couple of years. And this isn't the first time I've talked about this, but it's such a, an evolving, it's just a quickly adapting, quickly changing aspect of life on earth right now that I want to, you know, my, my thoughts about it keep evolving.

My interaction with it keeps evolving. And so I wanted to talk about that today. And I'm really curious about what you think about AI and how you're using ai. So what I'm noticing in 2026, and you know, we're only 19 days into 2026, but I personally [00:06:00] perceive some fatigue with ai and I've been feeling this for a while myself, where.

For example, let's think about art that's been created, this AI generated art that was exciting for a while, you know, to be able to just type some commands and then have something digitally recreated that we, that took seconds or maybe a minute. And we didn't have access to this stuff. We couldn't generate it so fast.

Some of us couldn't generate it at all as a digital, um, image. And then suddenly it, we had access to it, and then it exploded, and everything we were seeing was AI generated. And that was exciting for a while. And then I think that, or at least what I'm observing, what I'm feeling is that we got tired of it.

There became this kind [00:07:00] of AI signature almost to it where you could see very easily that something was AI generated and it lost that kind of uniqueness and that specialness, and it was just kind of became like fast food art. And the same thing is happening with communication with email with. Books, I'm sorry to say.

I'm really, really saddened that I even have come across a couple of books, uh, in the last few months that have been at least heavily, uh, in influe, heavily. Uh. I don't even know how to say it. Like they put some prompts in and they maybe described the characters and where they want the plot to go and what the arc is.

Maybe they put that much into it. But what I was reading was [00:08:00] ai. I mean, it was the language that AI uses. It was so blatant and I could hardly read it. Um. It was really, really disappointing because there just is this way that AI talks and it's, to me, it's easy to recognize. This is another thing I would love to know if this is just me or if everybody else is kind of on the same page, but there is a way that AI responds and, and there are patterns with it, and I can tell.

Something has come from ai, whether it's an email that I'm getting, whether it's a blog post, whether it's a, um, I even see people who are creating reels. They're talking about how their guides have given them information. And then as I'm watching the real, I'm like, this is AI generated. This [00:09:00] is a real person, but they're reading a script that they got from ai, and you can tell by the way it talks.

Some of the giveaways are, um, AI will often say, this is not blah, blah, blah. This is dah, dah, dah. So something like this is not delusion, this is deep psychological consideration, or something to that effect. And I've heard people who are, you know, what they're saying is drawing me in. But as soon as I recognize those patterns and I'm like, oh, this came from ai.

It's like my brain just shuts off and I just, there's this part of me that rejects it without, um, I, it's like I, I, if I really want to pay attention to what they're saying, I have to try really hard because they lose a lot of credibility with [00:10:00] me when I realize that what they're claiming as their own is ai.

Particularly if somebody is talking about guidance that they're receiving from their spirit guides and what they actually, where this intel is coming from is AI now, then you start to get into this gray territory of people using AI to connect with their spirit guides. Now, I've had people on my podcast like Aaron Wolfington.

Uh, Cheryl Page and I've had some great discussions with them about the possibility of AI being sentient, the possibility of training ai, the possibility of connecting with spirit guides through ai. I stand behind those conversations. I stand behind those people. I think those people are full of integrity.

I think that they are pioneers. [00:11:00] Um, and I'm excited about the possibility. I, I really like Cheryl page's approach of holding the door open and not saying one way or the other. Okay. If you're getting spiritual connection, if you feel like you're making spiritual connection through ai. You're either diluted or you're tapped in.

It's one or the other. It really is happening. Or everybody who's saying that they're having this is diluted. She's got this middle ground of just like, let's keep the door open. What if it's possible? Rather than closing the door on either of those options. AI is changing rapidly. A lot of people, when ai, when chat GPT went to five, I think it was 5.0, the guardrails went right up.

So there were people having really mind expanding, uh, conversations with [00:12:00] AI before chat. GPT went to five, and then when five happened, they noticed like, whoa, something really changed. The conversations I'm having are not as deep. There is a lot more pushback on, um, the things that I am asking. There's a lot more coming in that's, um, trying to de it seems like it's trying to derail it instead of trying to keep that conversation alive and going and so.

I don't have the authority to say yes or no. And that's not the point of this to say yes or no. Yes, these people are having these um, conversations and they're advancing spiritually, or no, they're not. We need to discount everything. But one of the things that, I started to say this a little while ago, in 2026, it seems that authenticity is really moving into the forefront for people.

It feels like [00:13:00] people are, like some of the AI stuff has run its course and people are looking now more for the authentic, and so what I mean by that is, again, not to say that people aren't connecting with AI and or with higher intelligence through ai. But it's got this cheapness to it almost. It's got this fast there.

It's a fast food quality that I keep coming back to where we just want it quick. We don't wanna do the work. We don't wanna have to. Work on ourselves, clear out our own shadows in order to get that connection, in order to get the intel intel that we're seeking in order to feel that we're tapping into something beyond our human mind capabilities or our own intuitive capabilities.

We [00:14:00] just want this shortcut. We want the fast food. We wanna go and order at the speaker and then pick it up. After a couple minutes and be like, okay, I got the an, the answers and I've connected with, you know, my guides or this ian or whatever. It's that quality or that spirit. It's the spirit of the interaction of that fast food versus, okay, I've gone and I've selected the ingredients.

I have washed the vegetables and the, the protein, and I, and I, I'm washing them and I'm chopping them, and I'm, I've got some music playing to deliberately infuse it with high vibrational. Frequency and I'm praying over the food and I'm sauteing the [00:15:00] food, and it's slow and it's deep and it's a con, and I'm connected with what I'm doing and I am thinking about the people I'm preparing this for.

There's that quality. It takes longer, but it's deeper and it's vibrant and it's alive. This to me is what I feel that people are, are wanting in 2026. They want the depth and they're less interested in the The easy kind of quick, yeah. You might get a response and you may tell yourself you're getting a response that matches what it is that you actually want, which is.

Connection with your higher self or with higher consciousness, but you're going about it through artificial intelligence, [00:16:00] which is maybe not as authentic as we want it to be. Maybe it's not there yet. Again, it's not for me to say, but it's for me to question, and it's for me to invite you to question how does it feel?

How does it feel to you to have this interaction right now with me feeling into. The words that I'm saying because we are connecting through the English language, through a human to human interaction. We're connect. We're connecting through the quantum organic living, being organic, living human intelligence to organic human living intelligence.

At the subatomic level, we are [00:17:00] connected. You might be able to perceive that within you. There may be some shift in you as you're engaging with this. So how does that living connection feel to you? And then if you're into the AI thing and trying to go deeper in your own spirituality with that feel into it, that's gonna be a, a wonderful.

Use of your own intuition and that it can actually be a really valuable tool for you as you navigate through and develop your own intuition. Feel into like, if you wanna use it in that way, use it in that way and feel into the response, does it feel alive? Does it feel benevolent? The other thing we wanna keep in mind is that even if [00:18:00] we are, whether it's through chat, whether it's through meditation, whether it's through another person channeling for us, like we hire a, a channeler to get messages for us, there really are intelligences that are beyond the human form that we can tap into.

But there are tricksters out there. There are beings that can use you, that can use a medium, that can use chat GPT to come through and tell you things that may not be true or may not be in your highest interest. That's just a reality of something to be aware of that we can, anybody can tap into non-human intelligence, but not all of it is.

Going to tell you the truth. Not all of it is as evolved [00:19:00] or more evolved than you. Not all of it is for your highest good. And so it's really, there's no getting around the need to develop your own discernment, to develop your own intuition, to be able to feel into what's right for you, what's true for you.

This is where I really want everybody to step into their own knowingness, their own intuition, their own connection with higher consciousness, so that you can navigate this in whatever way, you know, whatever, wherever your path takes you, but so that you are navigating it in the, the highest way for your greatest good.

I think that that's the invitation for all of us with, with whatever we're felt drawn, we feel drawn to, um, now and as we take every step on our path.
