487. Health Hacks for Perimenopause & Thinning Hair | Gray Hair Transition Update

Listen or watch

The decision to stop coloring my hair and allow the natural silver to shine through has been a powerful initiation. It is not simply about changing a hairstyle. It is about embracing authenticity, shifting my mindset, and aligning with the natural rhythm of who I am becoming. I often describe this process as slowly unwrapping a gift. For around 17 years, I covered my roots as soon as they showed, but now I find myself curious to see what nature has been preparing beneath the dye.

At the one month mark since my last salon visit, the growth is beginning to show. It is subtle but noticeable, especially at the temples. Historically this was the part of my hair that brought self-consciousness, the part I felt pressured to hide. Yet now I view it as a sign of liberation. The gray is revealing itself in the places that once triggered insecurity, and it invites me to hold a different perspective. This journey is not only external. It is teaching me to strengthen my resolve, to release outdated expectations, and to honor the deeper beauty of authenticity.

I have spoken with other women who are further along in their gray hair transition. Each story holds encouragement. Some have navigated unsupportive voices and learned to claim their truth regardless of opinion. Others radiate new confidence as their natural silver enhances their presence. I see this as an energetic bridge, a frequency of acceptance and sovereignty reflecting the clarity and truth of self expression and the vibration of wisdom and illumination. Together they create a resonance that supports the courage to embody natural change with grace.

Alongside this personal update I want to share two health hacks that have made a tangible difference for me.

Hair Growth Support

Although I did not set out to correct thinning hair, I have noticed a remarkable improvement in my hair density through the regular use of a red light. My stylist has even commented on the new growth. This shift came from a simple addition to my daily routine that nourishes the scalp and follicles. The beauty of this practice is that it works gently over time, supporting the body’s natural intelligence.

The red light that I have been using daily for several months is this one. I also had to purchase separately a cord so it could be handheld.

Perimenopausal Balance

The second health hack is especially relevant for women moving through perimenopause. This stage of life brings new challenges and requires new forms of support. I discovered a practice that eased my transition and offered more stability as my body adjusted. It has brought me comfort, balance, and a renewed sense of vitality. This hack is called seed cycling, where you grind and ingest daily a combination of seeds based on where you are in your menstrual cycle.

I am not a doctor and I encourage you to listen to your own body and consult with trusted professionals when needed. These are practices that have served me well and may inspire ideas for your own path.

When I recently received my lab results, my functional medicine doctor remarked that I was one of her few patients with every level in the healthy range. This confirmed for me that small, intentional choices matter. They accumulate over time and help us sustain wellness even in seasons of change.

Closing Reflections

My gray hair journey is about more than hair. It is about aligning with truth, embodying authenticity, and allowing nature to reveal her gifts. The health hacks I shared are simple, yet they remind me of the power of consistency and self care. If you are navigating your own changes—whether it is hair, hormones, or mindset—I invite you to approach it with curiosity and compassion. Each new phase is an invitation cross into deeper acceptance and radiant wellness, illuminating the path as we walk forward in authenticity.
